First Look: Jack Griffin Strikes Back in Universal Monsters: The Invisible Man #2 by James Tynion IV & DANI

The Invisible Man issue 2

You Can’t Hide from What You Can’t See as Chapter Two Arrives September 24

“The Invisible Man is a raging success. Moody, atmospheric art brimming with swaths of sinister ink and inventive storytelling. A script that delights in chilling its reader to the bone. These are creators at the top of their game.” – Michael Walsh (Universal Monsters: Frankenstein, Exquisite Corpses)

“Much like DANI and Brad Simpson’s exquisitely minimal, high-contrast art, it’s what Tynion leaves unsaid that will scare you most. In that empty space between…The Invisible Man is a wicked story.” – Tyler Boss (You’ll Do Bad Things, What’s the Furthest Place from Here?)

LOS ANGELES 08/28/2025 — Today Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics, in partnership with Universal Products & Experiences, revealed interior pages and the slate of variant covers for Universal Monsters: The Invisible Man #2, the next issue of the four-issue limited comic book series from Eisner Award-winning writer James Tynion IV (Something Is Killing the Children, Exquisite Corpses), acclaimed artist DANI (The Low, Low Woods, Coffin Bound), colorist Brad Simpson (The Amazing Spider-Man), and letterer Becca Carey (Absolute Superman).

Unraveling the dark origins of the iconic monster in an all-new story, the next chapter of this haunting take on The Invisible Man will be available at comic shops on September 24, 2025.

James Tynion IV and DANI continue their horror masterpiece: a reimagining of one of film’s most mysterious and menacing figures. In the second issue, it becomes clear that Jack Griffin’s ambitions will not be limited by the small minds of his rivals. So now he must strike back….

In addition to the main cover by DANI and series colorist Brad Simpson, Universal Monsters: The Invisible Man #2 boasts a variant cover lineup from top artists including Mike del Mundo, Matthew Roberts, and Martin Simmonds, as well as the second of a four-part connecting cover series by David Aja.

Universal Monsters: The Invisible Man is the fifth Universal Monsters series launch, following James Tynion IV and Martin Simmonds’ Dracula (which netted Simmonds a BEST PAINTER/MULTIMEDIA ARTIST (INTERIOR ART) Eisner Award nomination); Ram V, Dan Watters, and Matthew Roberts’ Creature from the Black Lagoon Lives!; Michael Walsh’s Frankenstein; and Faith Erin Hicks’ The Mummy.

The Invisible Man will be followed by additional new limited series pairing the biggest names in comics with pop culture’s most iconic monsters.

Universal Monsters: The Invisible Man #2 (of 4) (Lunar Codes Below | SRP: $4.99) will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
