MILWAUKIE, Ore., (July 22, 2026)—Venture into the Unknown once more and experience Patrick McHale’s beloved award-winning animated miniseries, Over the Garden Wall, with Art of Over the Garden Wall: Expanded Edition. Written by Sean Edgar, Art of Over the Garden Wall: Expanded Edition overflows with concept art, illustrations, and developmental material from creator and showrunner Patrick McHale and the show’s creative team, offering a definitive exploration into the iconic animated show. Originally airing in 2014 on Cartoon Network, Over the Garden Wall follows two half-brothers, Wirt and Greg, journeying through a strange autumnal fantasyland to find their way home.

This newly designed and updated edition includes all the content from the first edition and adds over thirty pages in a brand-new chapter featuring new cast and crew interviews (including Elijah Wood, Melanie Lynskey, and Collin Dean), artwork from the various BOOM! Studios comic series, concept designs from Mondo’s collectible figures, and photography and preproduction art from a wide range of delights created to honor the show’s legacy since the first edition was published. Art of Over the Garden Wall: Expanded Edition will also include new cover art by Over the Garden Wall art director Nick Cross and a new foreword by Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch.

Commemorating the 10th anniversary of the original book’s release, Art of Over the Garden Wall: Expanded Edition will be available in a standard hardcover and a deluxe edition that features exclusive cover art with foil treatment, gilded pages, and a ribbon bookmark in February 2027.

“It’s finally back in print!” said McHale. “I’m so happy people will soon be able to get their mitts on this book again, now in its new expanded form!”

“Revisiting The Unknown and all of the lives it’s touched—from the folks at Aardman to Elijah, Melanie, and Collin—has been a delight,” added Edgar. “Pat’s created a masterpiece for the decades. We’ll see you all in another ten years when we have long beards and lanterns of our own!”

Art of Over the Garden Wall: Expanded Edition and Art of Over the Garden Wall: Expanded Edition (Deluxe Edition) (both hardcover, 208 pages, and 10 × 11”) will be available in bookstores and comic shops on February 9, 2027. They are now available for preorder at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Dark Horse Direct, and your local comic shop or bookstore for $54.99 and $109.99, respectively.
