Starting in May 2015 MARVEL ran a “Secret Wars” series event. The series kicked off with an eight-issue mini-series and a Free Comic Book Day issue #0. It then ran twice a month until June 2015 and then monthly until October 2015. The storyline emerged from the Avengers and New Avengers “Time Runs Out” arc and centered on the collision between the Marvel 616 Universe and the Ultimate Marvel Universe, leading to their mutual destruction. Surviving fragments of these universes merged with other remnants, forming the new “Battleworld.”
To expand on this event, numerous tie-in mini-series and ongoing titles explored themes from past Marvel storylines like Civil War, Age of Apocalypse, Years of Future Past, and Armor Wars. These tie-ins were categorized under three main subtitles: Battleworld, Last Days, and Warzones. We compiled as many different covers from this series as we could.
