Welcome to PopCultHQ & PodCultHQ‘s
exclusive spotlight “Whatcha Doin’ in Comics?”

In this feature by PopCultHQ (and our official podcast – PodCultHQ), we interview people in the comic book industry who are making an impact with what they do, beyond just making comics.
For episode five of “Whatcha Doin’ in Comics?“, I spoke with one of my favorite people in the comic book industry, Ray-Anthony Height.
The writer, artist, publisher, and production manager has been in the comic book industry for over twenty years working on properties like “X-Men: Blue”, “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur”, “Spider-Man”, and various other projects for Marvel including storyboards for the “Guardians of the Galaxy Animated Series.”
He was part of the team that was nominated for the 33rd Annual GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comic Book with their work on “Star Wars: Doctor Aphra.” Other clients of his include
Viz Media, Cartoon Network, DC Comics, Milestone Media, Image Comics, and many more.
In addition to his freelance work, Ray also has a few creator-owned properties through his studio, Studio Skye-Tiger, that he’s currently working on with “Midnight Tiger” (launched in 2014) being the most notable.
Big things are coming down the pipeline from the creator in 2025. With a new podcast, crowdfunding campaigns, more from his IP Midnight Tiger, and offering consultations, Ray-Anthony is expanding his Studio Skye-Tiger brand to new Heights (<— yup, I went for it).

In our interview, not only does he discuss plans for him and his publishing label, he also shows his love for the industry and the people in it. Saying that I admire him greatly would be an understatement. Ray is the kind of creator where you just know that anything he puts out is going to be made with love, an artistic passion, high in quality, and overflowing with great entertainment value and a fun experience.
Time to listen to the interview!

About Studio Skye-Tiger:
Welcome to Studio SKYE-TIGER! With the decision to move primarily into the creator-owned space I wanted to migrate to a one stop shop platform focused on updating and sharing content produced under the Studio SKYE-TIGER brand. The newsletter format of Substack makes it incredibly easy to keep me, my supporters, and all those interested in the creator-owned comics and artwork connected! In short, this is more like the main website for all thing Ray-Anthony Height!
No need to wade through the countless posts on Twitter (Yes, I will continue to call it that), Instagram, or Facebook where my updates are buried and forgotten. If you’ve subscribed here you’ll never miss an update on new comics or artwork!
The great thing is that the subscription is free! The subscription option is used here more like a donation or tip, but it absolutely not required.
So, spread the word and let’s make some comics!
